Every headline becomes a typographic portrait of its article — genuinely clever editorial design thinking.
Mix Interiors redesigned its editorial system so headers, colour, and composition each respond directly to article content. Feature titles become typographic translations of meaning — sometimes a visual metaphor, sometimes a portrait in letterforms, sometimes a subtle irony. Three editorial elements work in concert to give every spread a distinct personality without losing system coherence.

A typeface where the letterforms literally are the chessboard squares — form and function fused completely.
A studio designed two custom typefaces — Notation Black and Notation Light — whose letterforms double as the black and white squares of a chess board. The A–G and 1–9 notation is built directly into the grid, so the board reads as abstract pattern first and alphanumeric notation second. The project started from a practical problem and arrived at a genuinely elegant typographic solution.

Street sign lettering from Lagos, scaled up to monument size — a strong case for vernacular type as fine art.
Photographer and creative Osadebe documents Lagos's hand-painted street typography and translates it into large-scale public installations. The project argues that the city's informal signage tradition constitutes a rich, living type culture. It challenges the assumption that meaningful typography must originate from a screen or type foundry.
